RB - 7 - Humility - The Second Step

The second step of humility is that we love not our own will nor take pleasure in the satisfaction of our desires; rather we shall imitate by our actions that saying of Christ’s: “I have come not to do my own will, but the will of the One who sent me (Jn. 6:38). (RB 7:31-32)

Some questions to ponder:
How much of my life is just about me – my way or no way?
What is the big picture of God’s will for me?
Am I seeking God’s will in the daily or have I settled with figuring it our once and for all time never to change again?

So – the spiritual journey that Benedict describes is not my one way street or my once and for all time search.
It demands a lifetime of conversion - always searching, ever adapting, faithfully being open to God's will.
