Sister Anne McCarthy, is offering a weekend retreat, Monasticism and Nonviolence: Growing in Love and Freedom Friday, June 29 through Sunday, July 1 at Mount Saint Benedict Monastery.

The essential movement and challenge of the gospel of Jesus and of monasticism is from fear and violence to freedom and love. How do we grow in love and freedom? This retreat will explore answers to that question through the lens of the Rule of Benedict, and the teachings of ancient and contemporary teachers of monasticism and of nonviolence. The retreat will include input, sharing, simple rituals, creative expressions, and space for leisure. Optional contemplative prayer times will be included.
