Prayer: Responsibility & Privilege (Part 1)

The early Christians were conscious of the responsibility and privilege of prayer. Paul told the community at Thessalonica to “pray without ceasing” and to “give thanks in all circumstances” (I Thess. 5:17-18). In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus is portrayed as a person of prayer and a teacher of prayer: “he went out to the mountain to pray and spent the night in prayer to God” (Luke 6:12).
