Easter, 2017

Easter, 2017

Let us celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Christ in our world and all over the world.

Let us celebrate Easter, not in spite of the headlines that have dominated the news for the past weeks, but because of those headlines: senseless violence, natural disasters, accidents, unparalleled drug abuse and addiction, starving peoples, and unwanted refugees.

Let us respond to the Easter invitation that urges us to find reasons for rejoicing.

The Christian message is clear: the resurrection of Jesus is the source of our hope—the hope that justice, peace, and love can triumph. Resurrection means that change is possible: light can prevail over darkness and life can prevail over death.

May the colors and flowers, the alleluias and the music of our Easter video inspire you to respond to the beauty of resurrection with energy and joy.

Let us celebrate Easter, an event that can empower us if we choose to live it.

Let us join together and live resurrection hope here and now and work to transform the world.

I pray that you will know the richness of new love, new hope, new life and new possibility because resurrection lets us know that change is alive and our words, actions and efforts to live that message can and will make a difference.

Easter blessings and resurrection joy be yours!
