Chapter 7 - Seventh Step of Humility

The seventh step of humility is that we not only admit with our tongues but are also convinced in our hearts that we are inferior to all and of less value. (RB 7:51)

Am I willing to accept my own fragility, smallness, insecurity and emptiness so that the genuine, authentic, real self may begin to emerge? Do I accept myself as totally human, relying on God for all that I am and will be? The spiritual journey that Benedict describes is a way to change our hearts.
