On Wednesday, July 28, the Benedictine Sisters of Erie hosted a celebration of gratitude for Sister Miriam Mashank, OSB for her service to Saint Benedict Education Center (SBEC). Sister Miriam recently stepped back from the position of Executive Director at SBEC, a position she held for 16 of the 22 years she spent at SBEC. She will continue her efforts at SBEC and will now devote her energy to special projects. The evening was an opportunity to honor Sister Miriam and express gratitude for the magnitude of her leadership, expertise and presence in a ministry that seeks to serve the “invisible poor.” The sisters and guests joined together for a special Evening Prayer. At the conclusion of the prayer several guests offered tributes, testimonials to the work, commitment and person of Sister Miriam. A reception followed.
