Celebration in Honor of "A Lifetime of Bread Baking"
A “Lifetime of Bread Breaking” was celebrated when the community gathered to express their thanks to Sister Irene Warchol on the occasion of her retirement. Evening Prayer was followed by dinner and sharing. The event was planned by Sister Helen Heher and included all manner of fun! The center pieces were made by anyone who wanted to color a coffee filter that was then turned into a flower and placed with a candle in a bread pan. There was music and singing, as well as gift-giving and affirmation with bells and drums. Written and spoken expressions of regard and appreciation for Sister Irene’s 50+ years in food service, and eventually fulltime bread baking, flowed freely throughout the evening. It was simple and meaningful, special and memorable. Click on the arrow to enjoy this scrapbook that marks the occasion and you are sure to see that this was a night to remember!
