Partners in Dance
St. Benedict Community Center (SBCC) was the site of the 11th Annual Partners in Dance program presented by Erie Homes for Children and Adults (EHCA) and Dafmark Dance Theater. The mission of SBCC is to provide a recreational facility for peoples of all races and challenges. EHCA uses the facility two days a week. As part of the MOVE Program, the clients receive dance instruction. Beginning in January they use part of their gym time for program preparation.
With the help of dance instructor, Megan Veres, a memorable performance was created and shared. Dancing through the Decades caused pride and joy to abound in equal and endless measure. “EHCA is celebrating their 100th anniversary and I can’t tell you how much it means to all of us here at the center to be able to provide a facility that helps them in fulfilling their mission to assist people with disabilities to lead rich and fulfilling lives,“ says Sister Dianne Sabol, OSB, director of SBCC. “Our relationship with the staff and clients, our experience of the folks from Dafmark Dance Theater—all of it is a special gift. We are happy to have this particular opportunity, Partners in Dance, to celebrate it.”
