SBA ALUM Christmas Party

St. Benedict Alumnae celebrated a Starry Starry Night on December 6 at the 2011 Saint Benedict Academy Christmas Party. A beautiful sight unfolded as 453 alum gathered together to share old memories and make new ones. Joy and laughter filled the room as friendships were re-kindled and stories were told as if it was just yesterday that these women had walked the halls of the Academy.

Everyone sat in anticipation while they waited to hear if they were a lucky winner of one or even two of the 70 donated themed gift baskets. The monies raised provided a generous gift to St. Benedict Child Development Center. It will allow for the purchase of classroom materials and playground equipment. The center is located at the original motherhouse on East 9th Street between German and Parade Streets. A marvelous staff of 40 lay professionals and sisters run an outstanding program for children—newborns through pre-school. It is administered by Sister Diane Rabe (SBA class of 1969).

"I thank you again for your ongoing care and concern for the people of God that your donations have helped," said Sister Anne Wambach, Prioress. "Your continued friendship and loyalty to your alma mater and to the Benedictine Sisters of Erie is a very special gift."
