Support Sisters Art and Sole
Father Jim Gutting is no stranger to the Erie Benedictines or to Erie’s East side where he ministers as pastor of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish. Located on 9th Street, the church finds its home on what some people call the “Benedictine Block” and is neighbor to a number of Benedictine ministries. Father Jim, himself committed to ministry, understands that the church extends beyond its four walls and works with his staff and parishioners to make the church a light to the neighborhood. As a participant in the annual Art&Sole Neighborhood Art House fundraiser, he took that occasion to write a letter to the editor for the local newspaper, the Erie Times News. Check it out. It’s worth the read! And Father Jim – thanks!
“I was a huffin' and a puffin' along in the Art & Sole 5K Race to benefit the Neighborhood Art House on May 14, praying for an early finish line, when I had this thought: Who's going to step forward in the years to come to assure that the caring works of the Sisters of St. Benedict and other women religious and their friends continue?"
