Paris Pledge

The Benedictine Sisters of Erie signed the Paris Pledge to
1. Reduce our carbon pollution by 50% (from 2005 levels) by 2030
2. Set a goal of being carbon neutral by 2050

This action was the result of a request made by Interfaith Power and Light, a broad-based organization serving religious congregations of all faiths, to be in solidarity with the over 190 nations at the 2015 UN Climate Talks in Paris.(COP21 – the 21st Conference of Parties)). Since then 175 nations signed the Paris Agreement at the UN ceremony on April 22, Earth Day 2016.
