Sister Colleen Leathley, Novice

Sister Colleen met the Erie Benedictines as a participant in the Benedicta Riepp Monastic Experience program. A psychologist and academic with dual citizenship in New Zealand and Australia, she says: “From my experience, and what I know of the community's history and values, I fully believe that joining the Benedictine Sisters of Erie will enable me to deepen and respond more fully to God’s presence and call in my life in a positive way, not just for myself but also the community and greater good … I welcome this opportunity, as well as the prospect of being further inspired and enabled to advance the valuable role that women have to play in our Church and world, while promoting Gospel values of inclusivity, human development and peace.” She began the novitiate on October 17, 2020.
