Earth Day Lecture: ‘Love Canal: 40 Years Later’

April 23 at 7:00 pm

The Sister Maura Smith Earth Day Lecture at Mercyhurst University features Lois Gibbs, who founded the Love Canal Homeowners' Association in 1978, and led residents of Love Canal in their struggle for relocation away from a toxic waste dump site. Gibbs will speak on "Love Canal 40 Years Later: What Have We Learned and Where Do We Go from Here?"

This lecture is part of the Charlene M. Tanner Speaker Series. It is in memory of Charlene, who was an Oblate of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, and is a gift of her partner Oblate Doris Cipolla.
