Chapel Windows XI: Prayer

Prayer - uplifted hands

The Benedictine charism is to seek God as members of a cenobitic community and to respond through prayer and ministry. This charism is reflected in symbol in the beautiful stained glass windows in our chapel.

Prayer is symbolized by uplifted hands, a flame, and Chi-Rho.

Communal and private prayer become the center of our lives together. From this course grows our zeal for the building of the Kingdom, for offering Creation back to God. The rays from the center flame extend to all the windows, unifying the symbols on the right side.
