Catholic Rural Ministries Distributes Food Boxes in Venango County

Vans lined up to distribute food boxes

Sister Tina Geiger and Sister Marian Weher, Co-Directors of the Catholic Rural Ministry coordinated the distribution of "Farmers to Family" food boxes to the Venango County community hardest hit by the pandemic. "Our area is food insecure - in some neighborhoods, 55% of children do not have enough food. CRM decided to book a semi-tractor full of food boxes to distribute," said Geiger.
Along with thirty volunteers, a total of 1296 food boxes were packed into vans and trucks to be taken to various distribution points in the region. Partners included local mission organizations, community service organizations, and the Oil City high and middle schools.
