Sister Karen Oprenchok, Scholastic

Sister Karen is from Windsor, Ontario, Canada and is a former office worker of the Canadian Federal Government. On June 3, 2017, the eve of Pentecost, she professed her first vows of stability, obedience and fidelity to the monastic way of life. After signing her commitment paper, marking the promise to live the vows for a period of three years, she received the community pin. During her time as a scholastic, she will continue her study of the monastic way of life accompanied by Sister Diane Rabe, Scholastic Director, while taking on full time ministry. Sister Karen is presently engaged in ministry at the Emmaus Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry.
