Advent Afternoon of Reflection for Oblates

Mount Saint Benedict Monastery was the setting for the Oblate Advent Afternoon of Reflection. More than 50 oblates were able to come together to participate in this annual event.

Under the guidance of Sister Carolyn Gorny-Kopkowski, the group reflected on the WORD: the words of scripture, Thomas Merton, Scholastica and Benedict. Excerpts from the Prologue in John's Gospel served as a reminder that it is in the Word that there is Life.

The singing of "Let the power of Your Word, live in us," set the tone for an afternoon that included: prayer, presentation, personal solitude time, social time, and shared wisdom.
