AmeriHealth Caritas Supports Emmaus Grove

The Emmaus Grove continues to bloom with some help from AmeriHealth Caritas. The healthcare provider presented Emmaus Grove with $400 as part of its community outreach program to purchase supplies for the growing season.

Nancy Fahey, director of Community Outreach for AmeriHealth Caritas Pennsylvania, and Melissa Farenish, manager, stopped by the Grove this week to see the garden and hear more about the mission from Master Gardeners and Emmaus Grove coordinators, Ellen DiPlacido and Mike Bailey.

Having used the money to purchase top soil, seeds, plants, and mulch, both Nancy and Melissa agreed that Emmaus Grove is the sort of endeavor that benefits a local community. The harvest goes directly to the people that Emmaus Ministries serves. Nancy explained: “Rather than spending money on billboard advertisements, AmeriHealth Caritas chooses to give money to support projects in the communities we serve. Because we get better results. We help people."
