Benedictines for Peace will host a Silent Peace Walk Tuesday, June 15

Peace Walk outside Neighborhood Art House

Benedictines for Peace (BFP) will host a Silent Peace Walk on Tuesday, June 15 from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Perry Square (West of State Street at South Park Row). For over a year, BFP has encouraged Silent Peace Walks by individuals wherever they could at a coordinated time each month. With the new COVID guidelines, we are able to advertise and hold an outdoor event.

This simple public prayer, step-by-step, is a powerful nonviolent tool to bring peace, beginning with one’s own heart, to our families, our communities, our nation, our world, and to all of creation.

Sister Ann Muczynski, OSB, BFP steering committee member explained, “As we resume monthly Silent Peace Walks, we are even more aware of the need and beauty of coming together to share and spread peace. We hope to reach across islands of isolation and alienation and to witness to crossing barriers and anything that would divide us from other beings.”

Silent Peace Walks promote inner peace which does away with fear, divisions, and hatred and brings about peace and unity in the world.

All are welcome to join this simple, public nonviolent action for peace.
