Biking in the Frigid Cold (and snow) benefits Emmaus Ministries

By the numbers:

1 avid cyclist, Eric Webber, led

40 cyclists, many of whom are members of the Erie Cyclepaths group,

13 miles around Presque Isle Peninsula on

1/1/18 as a part of the

6th annual “Frigid Frolic.” Temperatures were only

12 degrees, but with the wind-chill factor, temperatures dropped to

-4 degrees. Most roads were plowed after Erie got

7 feet of snow from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day but many still had to ride bikes with

4 inch tires, called fat tire bikes, to get through the snow. Together, the cyclists collected

1 full carload of hats, scarves, and gloves for guests of

2 local agencies: Emmaus Soup Kitchen and the Upper Room.
