A bountiful harvest

For the past three years Erie Insurance, along with the Bayfront East Side Taskforce (B.E.S.T.) and Master Gardeners Ellen DiPlacido and Mike Bailey, have provided the opportunity for the refugees at St. Benedict Education Center (SBEC) to maintain a garden they fondly call The International Family Garden. “This garden is a wonderful blessing for our refugees,” said Mary Lou McCall, SBEC Staff member. “At the beginning of November the group was still harvesting carrots and bok choy which added to the 963 pounds of vegetables they had already shared with each other. We are so grateful.”
