Emmaus Grove: Garden Tour Stop

The Bay City Gardeners Garden Club’s Second Annual tour of urban gardens included Emmaus Grove: The Erie Urban Farm School. Most people traveled by car or foot to some of the 50 gardens listed in the city of Erie, but a trolley car was also available for a selected tour, and Emmaus Grove was one of its stops.

In just 12 weeks, Emmaus Grove has developed into a lush garden filled with over 140 varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers. Garden tour participants met with co-founder Rosemary Gantz and talked with Emmaus Grove volunteers who were working in the garden watering the 56 raised beds and harvesting radishes and a few squash.
