Erie Gives donations increase more than $10,000

Thank you, thank you, thank you! The Benedictine Sisters are grateful to every one of their 257 Erie Gives donors. The 2020 Erie Gives annual campaign, sponsored by the Erie Community Foundation, resulted in more than $32,000 for the Benedictine community.

"These funds that our generous donors offer us really go right back into our Erie community," explained Jo Clarke, Director of Development Programs and Outreach for the Benedictine Sisters. "The monies help support the sisters' inner-city and other ministries as well as life in the monastery, making possible the sisters' ministry of daily prayer and hospitality—providing a place for pilgrims and seekers—when we're not in the midst of a pandemic!" Other needs include care of elder sisters and the monastic formation of new members.

Erie Gives takes place during a designated 24-hour period in August and the Erie Community Foundation enhances each gift by providing a prorated match. If you missed Erie Gives and would like to support the life and work of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie, you can donate here now.
