Erie Insurance Charity Challenge benefits Emmaus Ministries

What do donuts, golf, insurance, and Emmaus have in common? The 2017 Erie Insurance Charity Challenge golf tournament.

On September 11th, a team of four friends representing the Maple Donuts factory in York, Pennsylvania participated in the event and chose Emmaus Ministries as their charity recipient. The team, led by team captain and CEO of Maple Donuts, Nate Burnside, took fifth place, raising over $3,000 for Emmaus.

Breanna Mekuly, staff member of Emmaus Ministries, attended the awards ceremony. “Erie Insurance created an atmosphere of friendly competition while promoting social responsibility,” she said. “It was exciting to watch the teams await the results and even more exciting to be a recipient of the players’ and sponsors’ goodwill.”
