The Feast of Scholastica

February 10 is the feast of Saint Scholastica. She is the twin sister of Benedict of Nursia who is the founder of monastic communities and the one to whom the Rule of Benedict is attributed. From the little known of Scholastica it is clear that she was a strong woman who was deeply devoted to her religious life. She is celebrated by Benedictine women’s religious communities around the world as a woman who could “do more because she loved more” (Gregory the Great). We honor Scholastica.
