A glorious time of year, a glorious day

What a day! Sunny, clear, 80+degrees—glorious! The Benedictine Sisters welcomed Sister Veronica Mirage and the eighth grade students from All Saints of St. John Vianney School, Wickliffe, OH, for their annual visit to the monastery and it was indeed glorious.

After visiting the Benedictine ministries in downtown Erie the students, along with their chaperones and teachers, traveled to the monastery. They joined the community for Midday Prayer and lunch, enjoyed fun activities and then took off to view the grounds. Glorious!

“Being able to welcome this very enjoyable group is always a blessing for us,” said Sister Helen Heher who was responsible for organizing and setting up a number of activities in which the students could participate. “Everyone seemed to have had a great time.” In fact, one student was heard to say: “This is the best day ever. I couldn’t wait to come.”

“We tried to get photos of all the students,” said Sister Charlotte Zalot, Communications Director. “They were most accommodating and their smiles lit up the room. Hope we didn’t miss anyone but if we did, their spirit is surely alive in the photos we were able to get.”

“It was a glorious day in every possible way,” said Sister Veronica. “Thank you for the warm welcome and wonderful time.”
