Honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Day honors the vision and values of a man who pushed his dream forward at great sacrifice. We remember his dedication, courage and efforts for justice and equality for all and we seek to emulate his nonviolent passion that revealed itself in commitment to treating people with reverence and respect.

As Benedictine Sisters of Erie we stand against all words and actions that denigrate and dehumanize any of God’s creation. We pray to be a healing presence to all of God’s creation by offering welcome to people of all nations and countries, by recognizing beauty in diversity, by always speaking with kindness and upholding the Gospel way of love.
