Kids Cafe takes Field Trips to Perry Square

When it’s hot outside and the children are at the Kids Cafe, what do they do? They go to Perry Square and run around in the fountain on North Park Row in downtown Erie!

“They wanna do this everyday!” said Ebony King, staff member at the Kids Cafe, as she watched them run through the water, laughing and shouting. “They love coming down here.”

The children enjoyed the time in the park. “I’ve never been to the beach,” said a six-year-old boy, Trayvon. “I don’t think I’d like it because I’d drown. It’s too deep and water would go over my head. But here I can run in the water and not worry about that.”

When they got tired or cold – though it was sunny the water hadn’t yet warmed up – the children retreated to the sidewalk and laid out to dry off.
