Let the Easter Egg Fun Begin

Benedictines cultivate beauty whenever they can – even in the art of Easter egg decorating. The annual event, organized by Sister Helen Heher who attends to every detail with such care that you can’t help but want to decorate eggs, was a prelude to the special days of the Easter Triduum the community will soon celebrate. “This is such a fun time,” said Sister Marilyn, one of the egg decorators. “The lightheartedness and energy in the room was contagious as we all worked at creating something beautiful.”

Eggs are symbolic of new life and for Christians decorated Easter eggs are a sign of Resurrection life and joy. “It was a wonderful coming together,” said Sister Anne Wambach, prioress. “I think our excitement grew as the number of uniquely decorated eggs increased. We joyfully anticipate the celebration of Resurrection.”
