Retreat sponsored by Catholic Rural Ministry draws 40 participants

A group of 40 individuals came together for an overnight retreat at Olmsted Manor Conference Center in Ludlow. This was the fifth retreat sponsored by Catholic Rural Ministry (CRM) which includes Sisters Marian Wehler, OSB and Tina Geiger, RSM, co-directors of CRM II [Oil City Deanery] and Sisters Phyllis Schleicher, OSB and Mary Hoffman, OSB, Co-Directors of CRM I [Potter and McKean counties]. The retreat content was inspired by Pope Francis’ 2017 World Day of Peace Message. It was presented and led by Sister Anne McCarthy, OSB. Sister Tina summarized the retreat in these words: "Jesus' message of active non-violence in the face of hatred, oppression and diminishment of the human person in any way is central in Pope Francis' message."

Participants included people from CRM I and II and a number of Benedictine oblates.
