Cross out passive, change it to active

In her recent post on Global Sisters Report, Monasteries of the Heart/Benetvision staff member Sister Linda Romey addresses the often subtle sexism that supports violence against women--and how even seemingly small changes can have a cumulative effect on changing how we think about women and their leadership in building a more just society. "In the end," she writes, "it is women who must decide to create change for women. Because a man cannot know a woman's experience and cannot live a woman's experience. ...each of us must make the decision to do something or nothing will change." Read the complete post here.

Sister Linda's article happens to coincide with November 25 which has been designated by the United Nations as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
