Safeguard DACA and the human dignity of all people

The Benedictine Sisters of Erie stand with the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in gratitude for the recent Supreme Court vote that safeguards from deportation thousands of immigrants who came to the United States as children. While not a permanent solution, the Court’s ruling is a beginning. Protections that will endure are necessary for Dreamers. The House of Representatives has already passed the bipartisan American Dream and Promise Act of 2019 (HR 6). It is time for the Senate to do the same.

In keeping with our Corporate Commitment and the desire and hope for the life and dignity of all human beings, we will continue, as Benedictine Sisters of Erie, to work to right the injustices against immigrants as well as seek justice and dignity for people of all races.

Sister Anne Wambach, OSB
Prioress
