Siste Anne Wambach, Prioress, Accepts Gift from the PNC Foundation

On behalf of the PNC Foundation, Marlene Mosco, President, PNC Bank Wealth Management, made a visit to Mount Saint Benedict Monastery to present a $10,000 gift to the Benedictine Sisters of Erie. Sister Anne Wambach, prioress, graciously accepted the gift which will be used for the partial funding of the dining and community room renovations at the monastery. The improvements have helped meet some of the sisters’ current needs by providing better accessibility; they have also created an energy-efficient space.

In addition and perhaps most importantly, this project benefits the sisters’ ministry of hospitality. As written in the Rule of Benedict, “All visitors who call are to be welcomed as Christ, who said: I was a stranger and you took me in (Matt 25:25)." (RB 53:1)

Mount Saint Benedict Monastery serves as a place of worship, prayer and community for the sisters and the 1000 plus visitors each year. The newly renovated community and dining room space provides a most welcoming environment for sisters and guests alike. The Benedictine Sisters of Erie are grateful to the PNC Foundation for their support.
