Sister Marilyn Schauble Sings with the North East Choral Club

Sister Marilyn Schauble prepares to sing in Christmas Concert

A Few of Our Favorite Things was the theme of the 25th Anniversary Christmas Concert Celebration presented by the North East Choral Club at Park United Methodist Church. Sister Marilyn Schauble, who has been a member for three years, explains: “Being part of this wonderful group of women has provided me with the opportunity to do one of the things I love most — sing!” And sing she did along with 30 others whose combined voices provided a memorable evening of entertainment and pleasure to a packed church. The program was the ideal way to mark the area’s first significant snowfall. Not only did it sound like Christmas, it looked like Christmas, too.

“Coming to this event feeds my Christmas spirit and I love it,” said Sister Dianne Sabol, one among many sisters and oblates who were able to attend. Those present feasted on an array of sacred and secular Christmas music and while the music was food for the heart and soul, the North East Choral Club wanted their music to be able to provide sustenance for those who are hungry in body as well. In keeping with a long standing tradition, free will offerings were accepted for the local food pantry and a lovely evening was brought to a perfect end.

(Sister Marilyn serves as the Vocation Director and the Oblate Director for the Benedictine Sisters of Erie.)
