Spring is in the Air

The daffodils are just about to bloom in the flower beds, but they have already sprung at Emmaus Soup Kitchen. With the changing of the seasons, Emmaus volunteer and Erie Benedictine Oblate, Cathy Dudenhoefer, creates a new centerpiece for each of the twenty tables in the dining room. She has been dedicated to this project for almost a decade. With some help from friends, Cathy finds new, creative ways to fill the space with color and offer to the guests a taste of beauty while they dine.

Breanna Mekuly, a staff member at Emmaus, commented, “The guests always notice the new centerpieces that Cathy brings. They appreciate how they make the tables more vibrant.”
