Upholding those participating in Catholic Action for Dreamers

“Today is National Catholic Day of Action with Dreamers. We uphold the women religious and many supporters who are joining in nonviolent civil disobedience in the nation’s capital,” said Sister Anne Wambach, prioress. “Benedictines for Peace (BFP) members: Sister Anne McCarthy, Oblate Jacqueline Small, Sam Miller, Breanna Mekully and Tinamarie Stolz, will participate in the action that advocates for a clean DREAM act by urging Catholic lawmakers to embrace the principles of Catholic social teaching and to protect from deportation the immigrant youth we know as DREAMERS. May we stand in solidarity with them.”

Join us in prayer and support:

Merciful God, compelled by faith and belief in the dignity of every human being, we continue to walk with the Dreamers. Together with people of goodwill, especially those who have gathered today to participate in action for secure DACA legislative protection, we pray for the courage and strength to be present to the work that will realize freedom and justice for all.

We ask this in the name of Jesus, model of action rooted in peace and nonviolence, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
