Villa and Prep Committment to Emmaus Soup Kitchen

Valentine’s week is the perfect time to share love – and the National Honor Society students at Villa Maria and Cathedral Prep did just that with the guests of Emmaus Soup Kitchen.

The students celebrated a semi-formal dance in early February and donated leftover cookies to the Soup Kitchen. Ellie Arrowsmith, a junior on the National Honor Society at Villa Maria High School, said their National Honor Society participates in regular volunteer events, along with being committed to scholarship, leadership, and practicing good character. This year, the students wanted to ensure the leftover cookies from the formal were not thrown away but put to use. So they chose the Soup Kitchen.

To receive the cookies were regular Soup Kitchen volunteers at graduates of Villa and Prep, Kitty Welton ’68, and Tony Pol ’74.
