A week of memories

For six students and their adult mentor, winter break meant a trip to Erie. Once again our relationship with Canisius College was made even stronger when the group arrived for an alternative winter break ministry trip.

The group lived at the monastery and worked with the sisters in various Benedictine ministries. Sister Marilyn Schauble, Director of Vocations, coordinated everything with Kaitlyn Buehlmann, associate Campus Minister at Canisius. “We have been hosting this service trip for many years,” said Sister Marilyn. “We love having the students come and share their enthusiasm, energy and willingness to get to know and work with us. It never fails to be a great experience.”

New friends were made and invitations to come back and visit were plentiful. As the week came to an end Sister Marilyn shared: “It was a wonderful week. To experience the goodness and kindness, commitment and care of today’s young adults is exciting and refreshing.”
“We are already looking forward to next year,” said Sister Anne Wambach, prioress. “The students and their adult leader are a blessing to us in more ways than I can count.”
